Green out of the Box" welcomed 2024, with an important stop at Neapolis High School!

On 10/01/2024, the Neapolis High School received the “green box” from the 2nd GEL of Kozani. The students and teachers of the 2nd GEL were transported to Neapolis by bus together with members of the GO Alive project team, most of the cost of which was covered by the “GREEN out of the BOX” project.

At the same time, the students of Kozani had the opportunity to visit a school outside the city of Kozani and to spend some time in the picturesque village of Neapolis Voio. A special chapter begins for the students of the school, within the framework of the “Green out of the Box” project.

During the delivery ceremony of the box to the Neapolis High School, a group of students and teachers from the 2nd GEL of Kozani presented the results of the challenge they undertook, which included the creation of 4 paintings on the environment. They delivered the “GREEN BOX” to the students of the Neapolis High School, continuing the chain by adding another school.

The handover ceremony was followed by interactive trainings based on GreenComp for both students and teachers, by members of the GO Alive project team.

The challenge for Neapolis High School was to create 4 copies of a newspaper on the environment. The instructions from the 2nd GEL Kozani students who came up with the challenge included the following:

“As part of the “Green Out of the Box” project and our initiative to raise environmental awareness, we propose the creation of a printed newspaper on the environment. Our aim is to share ideas, inspire and educate our community on the need for sustainable development. Throughout, take photos to show the progress of your action. You will need to create 4 identical copies. Each copy will have 4 pages. Your newspaper should have a title and contain 4-6 articles related to the environment and sustainable development in general, enriched with pictures or photos.”

Within two weeks and with the support of their teachers, the students of Neapolis Kozani High School successfully responded to the challenge by creating 4 copies of the newspaper on the environment.

The “Green out of the Box” journey continues outside the city of Kozani, giving the opportunity for smaller schools to join the project, promoting sustainability education and lifelong learning, ensuring a lasting impact on future generations leading to sustainable societies!

Stay tuned as the effort to raise environmental awareness among students across the Kozani regional unit continues, motivating them to think out of the box and take active action for a better and more sustainable future!
