On 12/03/2024, the “green box” accompanied by members of the GO Alive project team travelled to its 10th and final destination, the 1st High School of Ptolemaida. During the online delivery ceremony of the box, a group of students and teachers from the Music School of Siatista presented the results of the challenge they undertook, which included the creation of musical instruments from recyclable materials. In this way, thinking about their environmental footprint, the students of the Music School of Siatista passed the baton to the students of the 1st High School of Ptolemaida.

The handover ceremony was followed by interactive GreenComp-based training sessions for both students and teachers of the 1st General High School of Ptolemaida, by members of the GO Alive project team.

The challenge for the 1st GEL Ptolemaida was to create a garden in their school environment. The instructions from the students of the Music School of Siatista who came up with the challenge included the following:

“As part of the “Green Out of the Box” program and our initiative to raise environmental awareness, we propose to create a garden at your school. Throughout the project, take photos to show the progress of your action.

Within one week and with the support of their teachers, the students of the 1st General High School of Ptolemaida successfully responded to the challenge by creating a beautiful garden in their school environment.

“Green out of the Box” completed its “green” journey, promoting sustainability education and lifelong learning to teachers and students across the Kozani regional unit, motivating them to think out of the box. The success of the project underlines the importance of empowering students to become change agents in building a more sustainable and resilient world!
