The Experts’ Meeting of the CIVIKO project took place in Nis, Serbia, on 12–14 March 2026. Coordinated by KOM 018, this gathering brought together experts from all partner organizations to dive deep into the creative and analytical core of the project: the development of the CIVIKO board game and toolkit.
GO Alive’s co-founders and project managers, Markos Chionos and Maria Stefanidou, along with an intern, Christos Pichas, travelled from Greece to Nis to represent the organisation and actively contribute their insights on democracy and game development. Alongside the partnership, they worked to align on the concept, structure, and goals of the board game. Placing the foundations that will bring the game to life.
A major highlight of the meeting was splitting into national teams to brainstorm and design our own version of the CIVIKO board game, which we proudly presented to the whole group at the end. Beyond the work, we also loved experiencing the fantastic hospitality of KOM018 and Nis.
