The youth organization GO Alive offered a unique mobility opportunity through the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange programme titled “Let’s Deal with the Negative Results of COVID-19: Youth Against Mental Health Challenges”. Held in Lleida, Spain, this project gathered young people aged 18–25, along with one group leader aged 18+, to explore the pressing issue of mental health in a post-pandemic world.
The main goal of the exchange was to promote a healthier lifestyle, mentally and physically for European youth. After years of isolation and disruption caused by the pandemic, it became clear that new tools and collective reflection were needed. The program provided these tools through interactive workshops, open discussions, and team-building exercises focused on emotional well-being, resilience, and mutual support.
Participants learned essential coping strategies, shared their cultural perspectives on mental health, and developed a deeper understanding of how COVID-19 impacted their generation. The project fostered solidarity, encouraged empathy, and highlighted the importance of accessible mental health resources for young people.
“An unforgettable journey filled with wonderful memories. I am very happy and grateful to have been given the opportunity to participate in this program. Through the activities and workshops, I not only deepened my knowledge about mental health but also met people I will never forget.
In just a few days, we managed to create a family that stays together by overcoming the distance that separates us.”
