From May 4th to 11th, 2025, in the heart of nature in Brittoli, Italy, the KoKor EUth project brought together young Europeans to explore a vital question: how do we rethink our relationship with the digital world, with ourselves, and with each other?
In a world where scrolling has become second nature, KoKor EUth invited us to pause. Instead of traditional lectures, participants explored key topics — such as social media addiction, emotional wellbeing, and the pressure to stay constantly online — through group debates, team challenges, and deep reflection. It was a safe space to share, laugh, and sometimes confront ourselves.
Each morning began with yoga under the Italian sky, followed by forest bathing among the trees. In the silence of nature, participants reconnected with their breath, their emotions, and the present moment.
Beyond the activities, KoKor EUth was a spark for meaningful encounters. Friendships blossomed, ideas flourished, and a strong message remains.
“(...) Throughout the week, we talked openly about social media addiction, emotional wellbeing, and the pressure to always be online. We shared our own habits, struggles, and ideas for finding better balance. It wasn’t always easy, but it was real—and that’s what made it powerful.”
“These mindfulness practices helped us reconnect not just with nature, but with our own inner calm. We learned to breathe, notice, feel—and to be fully present, even in silence.”
"I had stopped writing, I had shut down my emotions because I thought feeling made me weaker. Thanks to this amazing experience, I opened up my mind and my heart again. (...) I met dozens of amazing people—each one unique—and I will cherish our wonderful conversations always."
"Now when I close my eyes I have found my happy place, my escape room."
“(...) KoKorEUth may have ended, but its message lives on. And so do the friendships, the lessons, and the hope for a healthier, more balanced digital world.”
KoKor EUth, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, proves how youth can lead the way toward a healthier and more conscious relationship with the digital world.
