Youth Exchange
The project is open to young people aged 14–16 and 1 group leader (18+) . Participants should be curious, respectful, and ready to take part actively in the full programme.
NB! As part of the project preparation, 1 selected participant and the group leader must also be available to attend the preparatory meeting in Budapest from 21–23 June 2026. This meeting will help prepare the group before the youth exchange.
Connected by Roots is a youth exchange that invites young people to explore self-awareness, mental well-being, nature, and connection with others. Through non-formal activities, participants will have space to express themselves, build confidence, and reflect on their relationship with the environment and the people around them.
The programme will include mindfulness, art workshops, outdoor activities, movement, and group discussions. The aim is to create a safe and supportive space where young people can speak openly, challenge social anxiety and learn simple tools for personal well-being.
The youth exchange will take place in Hollókő, Hungary, a small village surrounded by nature, around 70 km from Budapest. Participants will stay at Creative Space Training Centre, a youth-friendly venue designed for group activities, learning, and community living.
Accommodation will be in shared rooms with private facilities. The venue also has a large meeting room, cosy common areas, a dining space and a garden that will be used during the programme.
Meals will be provided at the venue, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee/tea breaks with snacks and fruit. Participants must clearly mention any dietary needs in the application form so the organisers can prepare properly.
Travel costs are covered according to Erasmus+ rules. For participants from Greece, the travel budget is up to 309€. This amount should include international travel, pocket monet, local travel in Hungary and the Budapest–Hollókő–Budapest transfer, which is expected to cost around 30€ per person.
The preparatory meeting will take place in Budapest from 21–23 June 2026. The Erasmus+ travel budge for this is up to 309€. The estimated travel cost for this meeting is around 170€ from Thessoloniki to Budapest, including a 10 kg bag, and this should be planned within the available 309€ Erasmus+ travel budget.
Participants should not book tickets before receiving confirmation and approval from GO ALive. All original tickets, invoices, boarding passes, and travel documents must be kept, as they are needed for reimbursement.
There is a participation fee of 50€ for each participant from Greece for GO Alive NGO
