Antalya, Türkiye | 09–17.08.2024
In August 2024, a vibrant group of young individuals from Greece, Estonia, and Türkiye gathered in the coastal city of Antalya for the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “BridginG CulTURES.” This international initiative aimed to celebrate diversity, foster intercultural dialogue, and promote mutual understanding between participants through creative workshops and shared cultural experiences.
The exchange was a colorful mix of workshops, team-building activities, cultural presentations, and personal storytelling. Participants explored themes such as identity, heritage, stereotypes, and inclusion, creating a space for meaningful reflection and open-minded dialogue.
Interactive sessions focused on:
– Enhancing intercultural sensitivity
– Building empathy through personal stories and shared experiences
– Challenging cultural assumptions and prejudices
– Strengthening collaboration and communication between different backgrounds
From dancing to traditional music and presenting national dishes, to debating cultural taboos and practicing mindfulness, each moment was an opportunity to learn and grow together.
Angiliki:
“A real project which talked about culture and at the same time talked to my soul. I learned how different and how similar the people of Turkey, Greece and Estonia are at the same time. I also learned how culture can change a person’s thinking and take us one step further. Because it’s us, the young people, who with our dreams will build and preserve every culture of this great world. And if not us, then who?”
Gerasimos:
“This project created many great memories I will always remember. The fact that there were not many countries gave us the opportunity to get attached to each other deeply. The participants were very joyful, full of energy and happiness. We danced, shared cultural differences, and lived an experience we may never have again. This project will be remembered by all of us!”
Maria:
“Participating in the Bridging Cultures was an enriching and eye-opening experience. I loved that I had the chance to meet like-minded people from other countries and share our cultures. It was truly unforgettable and I’m looking forward to participating in many more!”

“It allowed us to explore unique cultural perspectives while fostering mutual understanding and cooperation. Through discussions and activities, we not only learned about each other’s traditions, but formed lasting friendships that transcended borders.”
Georgios:
“The program really lived up to its title. I met people with similar ideas and expectations and I think that my group was also able to transmit its culture. It was what I expected and maybe even better.”
“BridginG CulTURES” empowered participants to:
– Increase empathy, open-mindedness, and intercultural competence
– Build strong networks beyond borders
– Reflect on their personal and cultural identities
– Take part in shaping a more inclusive and connected Europe
This project reminded us that culture isn’t something that divides it connects. Through dialogue and collaboration, we step beyond borders and become bridges ourselves.
